me: No, that’s not for school, that’s for home.
Jack: Sheesh, can I at least watch Sponge Bob on Netflix while you dry your hair?
me: (pausing…) Sure.
Jack: A “show” or an “episode”?
me: One show. 8 minutes. Then off.
Jack: (8 minutes later) It’s off! Can I see your phone now??
me: GEEZ Jack, can you please play with a toy or something. I don’t want you playing games on my phone!
Jack: Hello Mrs. Rude. I was gonna call DAD???
me: Oh.
High-tech devices leave users vulnerable to spies
Spy technology is now available to the average person who wants to glean cellphone information, read private emails and track someone’s location using global positioning systems. And increasingly, experts say, the technologies are being used by spouses and partners to track, harass and stalk.
“Technology has just exploded. It’s so sophisticated now, and it’s very easy to utilize these different technologies to keep tabs on a person and find out where they’re going,” said Gina Pfund, chief assistant prosecutor of the Domestic Violence Unit in Passaic County, N.J.
The person watching or listening is often a family member and frequently a suspicious or controlling partner. They have scanned Facebook pages, viewed online Web-browsing histories, and examined cellphone records for proof. But some take it a step further, planting

The Many Faces of… Nicolas Cage
So after some weeks off “The Many Faces of…” is back again. This time it’s an actor I will watch in almost any movie he is in, Nicolas Cage. His real name is Nicolas Kim Coppola and his uncle is Francis Ford Coppola. He changed his name to make sure people didn’t think he made a career based on his name alone. He’s a big comic book fan (something he also showed when he named his son Kal-El (which is the birthname of Superman) and chose the name Cage after the superhero Luke Cage. He managed to make his mark in Hollywood quickly and managed to get two Oscar nominations, winning one for his role in Leaving Las Vegas.
